Manufacturing

Macomb County’s business community enjoys a proud heritage and a promising future. Both are attributable to the strength of their common cornerstone, which is the manufacturing industry. Manufacturers, large and small, domestic and international, automotive and non-automotive have all found the ideal business setting is right here.

In 2005 alone, the MCPED’s clients invested nearly $150 million in new and expanded facilities, machinery and equipment, and created or retained more than 2,000 jobs.

The Planning & Economic Development is dedicated to supporting and growing our technologically advanced manufacturing community. The major OEMs and their supply chain; the engineering, R&D, and prototype specialists, and those who provide the services that keep all of it running; among them, the tool makers, gear grinders and heat treaters, are the department’s most important clientele as they are critical to the region’s economy.
