Shopping

Retail centers occupy more than 19 million square feet including 3 regional indoor shopping centers: Lakeside Mall, Macomb Mall and Universal Mall.

In 2007, The Mall at Partridge Creek, a 600,000-square-foot open-air shopping center set on 55 acres, opened in Clinton Township. Major retail anchors there include Nordstrom, Parisian and MJR Theatres.

For those that enjoy a less colossal experience, there are six old-fashioned downtowns in Macomb County that provide a charming assortment of specialty boutiques, antique markets and art galleries, along with lovely places to dine.

Farm fresh produce—most of it grown on one of more than 500 operating farms located in the northern part of the county—can be purchased the same day it is picked at more than 40 farm markets throughout the county. And for those who want to enjoy an outdoor day together, there are lots of farms and orchards where “pick-your-own” fruits and vegetables abound.
