Located in east-central Macomb County, Chesterfield Township lies halfway between Detroit and Port Huron. Sited along the shore of Lake St. Clair, it is one of the fastest growing communities in Macomb County.

Between 1980 and 2000, Chesterfield Township doubled in population with the greatest increases in single and multi-family neighborhoods south of Twenty-four Mile Road. Areas north of this line still retain much of their rural character.
