In the past the population of Lenox Township increased slowly, but from 1990-2000  the Township has seen a seventy-five percent increase in population and hit a total of 5,362 in 2000. Additionally, the number of housing units during the same time increased fifty percent. Historically, agriculture has dominated the Township’s land use. Today, much of this land lies vacant with small portions being developed for urban uses.

Expansion of water and sewer service to southern Lenox Township, including the Village of New Haven, has greatly expanded opportunities for development along Twenty-six Mile Road.
