About Commissioner Robert Mijac
Commissioner Robert Mijac was elected in November 2012 to represent the residents in northern Sterling Heights’ District 5. He previously served the district as a commissioner from 1994-2010.
Mijac is a graduate of Sterling Heights High School, and attended Macomb Community College. He earned a bachelors degree in Economics form Michigan State University and a Masters in Business Administration from Wayne State University. He is the owner of Mass Mailing LLC in Sterling Heights.
He is active with St. Lazarus Serbian Orthodox Church an in the Adopt-A-Road Cleanup for Schoeneherr Road in Sterling Heights.
Mijac’s top priorities as a commissioner are balancing the county budget, preventing a significant number of layoffs, continuing to attract jobs to Macomb County, and ensuring the county “buys locally, hires locally, and invests locally whenever possible so that our tax dollars are creating jobs in our community.”
