About Commissioner James Carabelli:
Commissioner James Carabelli was elected November 2012 to his third two-year term as a county commissioner. He represents the residents of Shelby Township in District 6.
Carabelli has served as co-chair of the Planning & Economic Development Committee, vice-chair of the Buildings, Roads & Public Works Committee, and as a member of the Courts & Legal Affairs, Finance, Personnel and Public Services committees.
Before joining the County Board, Carabelli was elected to two four-year terms as a member of the Shelby Township Board of Trustees, serving from 2000 to 2008. He is also a former chairman of the Macomb County Republican Party; a post he held from 2004-08.
Carabelli, 46, works as vice president of a local landscape company and lives in Shelby Township with his wife, Annemarie, and their four children.
