The annual National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) Food Drive is coming to mailboxes on Saturday, May 11, 2013!

In Macomb County (and throughout the country) postal workers will collect non-perishable food items placed by mailboxes on Saturday, May 11, 2013. Much of the food collected in Macomb County is distributed to people in need through the Macomb Food Program’s 55 pantry distribution sites.

The food drive is a critical event for the Macomb Food Program. Food items collected during this event provide emergency food supplies for thousands of hungry families and individuals. The Macomb Food Program encourages the community to support the letter carriers in their drive to help feed the hungry by leaving non-perishable food items in a bag near their mailboxes for carriers to pick up on collection day.
