Community Development services Group
The Community Development Services Division (CDS) of the Macomb County Department of Planning & Economic Development (MCPED) is authorized by the Macomb County Board of Commissioners to oversee federally funded programs that are designed to meet certain specific needs of residents, particularly those that are low-income. The funds are provided through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and include the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, the Housing Repair Assistance Program, the HOME program, and the American Dream Downpayment Initiative (ADDI).
In order to maintain funding, CDS must submit a number of important documents to the federal government including a “Five Year Strategic Plan”, an “Annual Plan” and an “Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing.”
