Economic development in action


Times are tough. That is a fact. But it isn’t all doom and gloom in Macomb County. During 2008, nearly $230 million dollars were invested in local manufacturing businesses that helped to retain 2,364 jobs and create another 1,842 employment opportunities.
Major investments included $41.5 million by incoming BAE Systems in Sterling Heights, $21 million invested by Baker Machining in Macomb Township and $8.6 million by General Dynamics Land Systems at both their Sterling Heights and Shelby Township locations.
