The department will administer $9.8 million in Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) funding from the U. S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) to stem the tide of foreclosure and abandonment in Macomb County. This program will help qualified families buy and repair foreclosed and abandoned homes in 21 communities, focusing on Center Line, Eastpointe, and Mount Clemens. (The Macomb program does not extend to those communities which will receive separate funding from HUD, including Roseville, St. Clair Shores, Sterling Heights, Warren and Clinton Township.
The County’s NSP was approved by the County’s Board of Commissioners on November 20, 2008 and by HUD on February 13, 2009.
