Annual Tree & Shrub Sale benefits conservation efforts.

Looking for a cost effective way to enhance the landscape of your business or residence?  The Macomb Conservation District is once again selling a large variety of trees, shrubs and perennials at better-than-wholesale prices.

According to Alane Rowley, Executive Director, anyone can place an order.  “Proceeds from this annual sale helps to support the operational costs for all of our natural resources management projects.”

A terrific assortment of plants, especially selected for their hardiness in Michigan, is available.  For instance:

  1. A two-year old Japanese Red Maple that measures between 18” and 24” can be purchased for $3.50.

  2. Trees of many varieties can be purchased in quantities of 1, 10, 25, 50 or 100 to accommodate large projects.

  3. Or, a packet of 20 trees that are especially appealing to birds and wildlife (including American Plum, Black Cherry and Red Bud) can be purchased for $22.

  4. The sale also offers a variety of ground covers, hostas and an assortment of planting aides.

For complete details, see the order form.  Orders by mail must be placed before April 4th and full payment must be enclosed.  Walk-in orders are accepted up to April 11.  The district will send a confirmation of your order.  Materials must be picked up at the Huron Pointe Sportsmen's Association (35800 28 Mile Road just east of Gratiot in New Haven) Friday, April 18 from noon to 6 p.m. or on Saturday, April 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
