Mission Statement

As the County experiences rapid growth, planning at all levels of government becomes more important, and more complicated. The Planning and Environmental Services (PES) Area strives to reach across municipal boundaries to address common issues that impact all jurisdictions. The service area does not take the place of sound local planning but is there to foster coordination between communities by educating, promoting, enhancing, and advocating for sound planning practices. With each successful collaborative project, the PES Area moves closer to creating sustainable communities, addressing quality of life issues, and protecting the natural environment.
