Keith Rengert (R) Commissioner, District 15

Keith Rengert was re-elected in November 2008 to represent the residents of District 15 in Macomb, Ray, Armada and Richmond townships, the village of Armada and the city of Memphis. The 2009-2010 term is his fourth on the County Board.

Rengert, 60, is a lifelong resident of District 15 and came to the Board of Commissioners in 2003 with more than 25 years of service in Richmond Township. He was elected township supervisor and served six years in that position. He was elected once as treasurer and twice as a trustee. He also was an appointed member of the township Planning Commission for 18 years.

He is a member of the Michigan Association of Counties, Richmond Lions Club, Central Macomb Optimist Club and the Richmond Area Well Head Protection Team. He is a lifelong member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.

Rengert is retired from L'Anse Creuse Public Schools, where he worked as a teacher and counselor for 31 years.

Rengert has a bachelor’s degree in education from Western Michigan University and a master’s degree from Wayne State University.

He and his wife Sallie have two married daughters and three grandchildren.
