Commissioner Carey Torrice (D) District 16

Carey Torrice was elected in November 2006 to represent the residents of District 16 in northern Clinton Township. This is her first term on the County Board and her first elective office.

She is a lifelong resident of Macomb County where she and her husband run a private investigation business, Eye Spy Detective Agency in Fraser.

In addition to being a licensed private investigator, Torrice also works as an actress and model.  Her acting credits include a role in the 2006 movie “Silent Scream” (using her screen name Carey Shawn) and commercials for automobile manufacturers and a health products company.

She also has appeared on television and radio programs, including The Maury Povich Show, as a commentator about the business of private investigation.

Torrice has been an active fund raiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and is a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners and the National Rifle Association.

Torrice, 29, is a graduate of Chippewa Valley High School and has an associate’s degree from Macomb Community College, where she studied Public Relations and Communications.

She was married to Michael Torrice in 2006.
