PURPOSE: The Macomb County Hazard Mitigation Plan 2005-2010 identifies those natural and man-caused hazards that pose a threat to the community, ranks them based on their potential threat to the people and economy, and recommends mitigation projects to eliminate or reduce their impact. This County Plan has been approved by both the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Michigan State Police, Emergency Management/Homeland Security Division.
The Macomb County Hazard Mitigation Plan 2005-2010 addresses those hazards of concern to Macomb County and its communities. You are welcome to review the plan and submit comments via the comment form by clicking the button on the right labeled "Questions/Comments".
The Macomb County 2005-2010 Edition of the Hazard Mitigation Plan is currently undergoing a total and comprehensive review and update. All political jurisdictions within the County are also working with the County to review and update the plan as it pertains to them. As of February 1, 2010 the updated plan was sent to the Michigan State Police-Emergency Management Homeland Security Division for a review. Once the State Police finish their review, the plan will be sent to FEMA for a final review.
