Hazard Mitigation Planning

PURPOSE:
The Macomb County Hazard Mitigation Plan 2010-2015 identifies those natural and man-caused hazards that pose a threat to the community, ranks them based on their potential threat to the people and economy, and recommends mitigation projects to eliminate or reduce their impact. This County Plan has been approved by both the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Michigan State Police, Emergency Management/Homeland Security Division.

The Macomb County Hazard Mitigation Plan 2010-2015 addresses those 28 hazards of concern to Macomb County and its communities. You are welcome to review the plan and submit comments via the comment form by clicking the button on the right labeled "Questions/Comments".

The Macomb County Hazard Mitigation Plan currently underwent a total and comprehensive review and update in 2009-2010. All political jurisdictions within the County assisted with the review and update as the plan pertained to them.  On August 12, 2010 the updated plan was approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).  The State Police finished their review and approval process on July 13, 2010. The attached plan is that plan that was approved by both the State of Michigan and FEMA and was adopted by Macomb County and the County's 25 local political jurisdictions.

If you have any comments that you would like to register regarding this plan, please feel free to do so at the "Questions/Comments" link.
