Tuberculosis Program


The Macomb County Health Department provides tuberculosis screening, diagnosis, treatment and follow - up for residents of Macomb County. PPD skin testing is available through the Macomb County Tuberculosis Testing Program (click here)

Hours and Locations
Persons with a new or positive PPD skin test can be evaluated for further screening through the TB Control Program (586) 469-5421.

Tuberculosis Risk Assessment for Macomb County

During the calendar year of 2010 there were thirteen (13) cases of active Tuberculosis identified in Macomb County.  Of those thirteen, no (0) cases of multi-drug resistant Tuberculosis were identified.

Macomb County's 2010 case rate for Tuberculosis per 100,000 people is 1.5.  Macomb County's case rate is lower than the 2010 state-wide case rate of 1.9, and is also lower than surrounding communities such as, Oakland County 2.6, Wayne County 1.9, and the City of Detroit 5.6.  All case rates are taken from the Michigan Disease Surveillance System (MDSS).
