The Macomb County Health Department operates the county's animal shelter. Services include pet adoptions, lost and found for pets, animal cruelty investigations, dog licensing, animal bite reports, and rescue services for domestic animals and injured or sick wildlife..

Shelter Hours:

Monday:  10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Tuesday:  10:00 a..m. - 4:00 p.m.

Wednesday:    Noon - 6:00 p.m.

Thursday: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Friday:     10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Saturday: 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

    

Adoptions end 30 minutes prior to closing time.


Staff is available by phone beginning at 8:00 a.m., Monday through Saturday.

Please Note, the Shelter will be closed on the following upcoming dates:

    Friday, May 24, 2013      County Furlough Day

    Monday, May 27, 2013   Memorial Day     

 

Effective February 2012:  Trapped wildlife will only be accepted if involved in a human bite, is injured or if exhibiting signs of illness.
