Lists of senior housing may be provided via postal mail upon request or may be viewed on our senior housing website.

DHTML & Java, etc LOAN CLOSET

Small medical equipment, such as; wheelchairs, bath benches and shower chairs are available for Macomb County senior citizens for short term use. Other equipment, such as, used walkers and canes are free.

DHTML & Java, etc 9-1-1 CELLULAR PHONES

The department accepts donations of inactive cellular phones with charger and battery in good condition.

Donated cell phones are made available to seniors of Macomb County who wish to have a 911 Emergency Phone for safety reasons. These phones are only able to dial 9-1-1.

For those that qualify, a government issued cellphone is available with Safelink. These phones are able to dial numbers other than 9-1-1 and have limited free minutes each month.

DHTML & Java, etc FOCUS HOPE

Once a month, a box of free government food commodities are delivered by volunteers to income and age eligible seniors (age 60 and older).

 

If a senior is able to drive or have other transportation, they must apply for Focus Hope through Macomb County Community Services Agency to pick up the food commodities at a Community Action Center. For more information about the Community Action Centers, click here.

Proof of age, income, and proper identification is required.  This includes a valid social security number.
