In re: Waiver of Family Division Jurisdiction over Civil Infractions

The Macomb County Circuit Court and the 42nd District Court enter into this agreement under the authority of MCL 712A.2e.

The Macomb County Circuit Court Family Division agrees to waive jurisdiction to the 42nd District Court over all traffic and municipal civil infraction actions which are brought within the jurisdiction of the 42nd District Court against persons under the age of 17. The 42nd District Court agrees to accept jurisdiction. However, if a civil infraction within the scope of this order arises from the same transaction or occurrence as a misdemeanor proceeding within the jurisdiction of the Macomb County Circuit Court Family Division, both matters are to be handled by the Macomb County Circuit Court Family Division.

This agreement and local administrative order is effective February 25, 2000. c
