The County Executive

The County Executive, Mark A. Hackel, serves as head of the executive branch of government. He supervises, coordinates, directs, and controls all County departments, except for departments headed by Countywide Elected Officials. The mission of the County Executive’s Office is to ensure that all county activities are geared toward efficiency, economy, and maximum service effectiveness for the citizens of Macomb County. The Office provides internal direction and support to the County’s departments and organizations, and external support to the residents, communities and businesses of Macomb County. As such, it ensures the implementation of legislative mandates and policies and provides analytical support, strategic planning, policy analysis, and budgetary oversight for the County organization.
