Free medical coverage is available for qualified, low-income Macomb County residents who meet eligibility requirements. The health plan provides primary health care services, access to specialists, prescription drug coverage, inpatient hospitalization, and diagnostic testing. Macomb Health Plan also offers a health plan for small Macomb County businesses called "Macomb Blue." Under this plan, which uses the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan Blue Care Network, employers pay one-third of the monthly premium, covered employees pay one-third, and Macomb Health Plan pays the remainder of the premium.
