    The Crocker House at 15 Union Street in Mt. Clemens will have a program on
    Wednesday, April 23, 7 p.m. on the Ambassador Bridge: Controversial & Beautiful.
    This will be a lecture at the Mount Clemens Library presented by Marguerite
    Humes.


    The Greater Clinton Township Historical Society is proud to announce their 2nd
    Annual Plant and Flower Fundraiser, benefiting the continued refurbishing of the
    buildings in the Historical Village. They have once again contracted with local
    Macomb County growers to supply patrons with quality annuals, perennials, herbs,
    and hanging flower baskets, to decorate a home or garden this summer. Show your
    support of history in this area by buying your flowers from the Greater Clinton Twp.
    Historical Society this year! A preorder form is available on the website at:
    www.clintontwphistory.org and is due on May 7th, with delivery at the Historical
    Village (on Romeo Plank and Canal, pictured below) on May 19th from 3-6 p.m.

     


     

    The Octagon House at 57500 Van Dyke in Washington Township, will be having an
    “April Showers” on Sunday, April 19 and on Sunday, April 27, they will have an
    Open House from 12 noon-4 p.m.

     

    The Selfridge Military Air Museum and Air Park is open to the public from April
    thru October on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays), Memorial Day, and Independence
    Day from 12:00 noon to 4:30 pm. The Museum and Air Park can be viewed at
    other times by appointment for groups and/or individuals by contacting the Museum's
    Executive Director at 586-307-6768. Admission is $4.00 per guest over the
    age of 12 and $3.00 for children between 4 and 12 years of age if you arrive during
    the general public hours noted above. For tours at other times (by-appointment
    tours), admission is $4.00 per guest over the age of 12 and $3.00 for children between
    4 and 12 years of age or $25.00, whichever is greater.

    some of them taught by the Macomb Historical Commission’s Karl Mark Pall.

    Here are some of the programs for May at the Cultural Center:

     

    Michigan's Regiments at Gettysburg on May 1 (Thur.) 11 am & 1 pm by
    Roger Rosentreter, professor of history at Michigan State University and editor of
    Michigan History Magazine, presents an overview of Michigan's regiments at Gettysburg.
    "O Could They But Speak…" Michigan Regiment's Battle Flags on May 2 (Fri.) 1 pm
    Kerry Chartkoff, archive specialist and coordinator for the Michigan Capitol tour
    and information service, and Bill Trevarthen, executive director of Michigan Government
    TV (MGTV), present the history and importance of Michigan's Civil War
    battle flags, based on a video produced by MGTV.

    June


    The Michigan Transit Museum at 200 Grand Avenue in Mt. Clemens will start
    2008 train rides on Sunday, June 1. The Depot Museum is open Saturday and Sunday
    from 1 to 4 pm.

     

    Chesterfield Twp. Historical Society will have their Historical Village open on
    Sunday June 8 from 1 until 3 pm.

    House on Sunday, June 8, from12 noon-4 p.m. and on Friday, June 20 will have
    “Faerie Tea” at 6 pm. On Sunday, June 22 they will have an Open House from 12
    Noon until 4 p.m.

     

    The Greater Washington Area Historical Society will host Super Sunday on June 1
    (includes an arts and crafts show, historical and Boy Scouts museum tours, vintage
    baseball game, living historians talks, carriage rides, exotic and farm animals,
    Banjo Dan, and more!) and the museum at 58230 Van Dyke in Washington Twp.

    The Greater Clinton Twp. Historical Society will present Macomb Historical
    Commission members Don Green and Cindy Donahue presenting their program
    and DVD on the Mt. Clemens Spa Industry. This will be on Monday, June 9, at 7 pm
    in the Macomb Clinton main library at Romeo Plank and Canal.

     

    The Bunert One Room Schoolhouse Museum will be open on Sunday, June 1 from
    1 to 4 p.m. It is located on Bunert St., a half mile south of 12 Mile Rd. at the south
    end of Warren Tower High School.

     

    The Crocker House at 15 Union St. in Mt. Clemens will present “Music in the Parlor”
    on Saturday, June 1. On Saturday, June 21, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Crocker House will
    have a Garden Walk & Tulip History Garden Tea.

    The Fraser Historical Society will have their new depot welcome center open on

    and Kelly.

     

    Save Our Depot of New Haven will have the depot open in the historical area on
    Victoria St. on June 22. There will be classic and antique cars and more. Call

    The Mt. Clemens Historical Home Tour takes place the second week of June. For
    exact information, please call (586) 383-0144.

     

    Log Cabin Days is a statewide event celebrating the first habitat for many of Michigan’s
    settlers. This year the event will be on Saturday, June 29. Many of Macomb
    County’s historical groups have log cabins in their Historical Villages. This includes
    the Richmond Area Historical & Genealogical Society who will have the
    Donley family log cabin (picture below, right) in Bailey Park at Beebe and Park St.
    open from 10 am until evening. The Greater Clinton Twp. Historical Society will
    have soap making in the Williams log cabin located in the Historical Village at Romeo
    Plank and Canal. Chesterfield Township Historical Society will also have
    their log cabin at 47275 Sugarbush open (picture, left) after the Bay Rama parade
    from 1 until 4 pm.

    Roast! On Sunday, July 27 there will be an Open House from 12 noon-4 p.m.

     

    Erin Halfway Days will not be held this year. It is usually around the second week
    of July. This event sponsored by the East Detroit Historical Society will return in
    2009. Check the website www.erin-halfwaydays.org .

    July 6 from 1 to 4 pm. This is located by the Baumgarten House at Masonic and
    Kelly.

     

    The Crocker House will have a Members Only Annual Meeting and Garden Picnic
    on Wednesday, July 16 at 5:30 pm.

     

    Chesterfield Twp. Historical Society will have their Historical Village open on Sunday July 13 from 1 until 3 pm.

    August

    The Bath City Festival will be held in downtown Mt. Clemens on Fri. through Sunday,
    August 22 through 24, three days this year. The festival heralds the days when
    Mt. Clemens was the mineral bath capital of the world and includes a historical tent
    where you can find exhibits and booths with most of the county’s historical groups.
    Also in the festival will be historical tours, lots of local merchant booths, a midway
    and rides, antique appraisals, and a stage with historical presentations in the historical
    tent.

    from 1 to 4 p.m. It is located on Bunert St., a half mile south of 12 Mile Rd. at the

    The Crocker House at 15 Union in Mt. Clemens will have a Jane Austen Garden Tea
    on Sunday, August 3 at 1 pm.

     

    The Memphis Historical Society will hold their annual Garage Sale Fundraiser at
    the community building next to the library on Potter St. This will be during Memphis
    Fest Days on August 7-10.

     

    Chesterfield Twp. Historical Society will have their Historical Village open on
    Sunday August 10 from 1 until 3 pm.

    September

     

    The Chesterfield Twp. Historical Society will have an Open House in their Historical
    Village located at 47275 Sugarbush Rd. on Saturday, September 13 from 10:30
    until 3:30. There will be guest speakers, music, craft games and activities for the
    children, classic and antique cars, trolley rides, and more!

     

    The Octagon House at 57500 Van Dyke in Washington Township will have on Sunday,
    September 14 an Open House 12 noon-4 p.m. and on Saturday, September 20
    will host Apple Time Tea. On Sunday, September 28 will be an Open House from 12
    noon-4 p.m.

     

    The Greater Washington Area Historical Society will hold the third Alumni Day
    on September 7 from 1 to 4 pm.

     

    The Crocker House at 15 Union St. in Mt. Clemens will host, on Sunday, September
    7, 1 p.m. a 1920s Mae McKenna Garden Party , and on
    Wed. September 17, at 7 p.m.: Box Office Open: Michigan's Small Town Movie Theaters.
    Lecture at the Mount Clemens Library, presented by Michael V. Doyle and
    Jack Miller.

     

    The New Baltimore Historical Society will have their History Fair (last year pictured
    below) on Saturday, September 20 in downtown New Baltimore. This year the
    theme will be Prohibition and there will be a dedication of the St. Clair Hotel sign,
    historical displays, local merchants’ sales, cemetery tours, and more. The Grand

    October

     

     

    The Crocker House at 15 Union St. in Mt. Clemens will host a Cemetery Walk and
    Funeral Tea on Saturday, October 4, at 1 pm. On Wednesday, October 15, 7 p.m.
    will be a program about Hillcrest
    Golf Course. This will be a lecture at the Mt.
    Clemens Public Library (on Cass Ave.) presented by Ross Strevel.

     

    The Octagon House at 57500 Van Dyke in Washington Township will have on
    Sunday, October 12 an Open House 12 noon-4 p.m. and on Saturday, October 25,
    will host a Witch’s Brew Tea. On Sunday, October 26 will be an Open House 12
    noon-4 p.m.

     

     

    November

     

     

    The Crocker House at 15 Union St. in Mt. Clemens will host a Children’s Etiquette
    Class and Cookie Tea on Sunday, November 2, at 1 p.m.

     

    The Octagon House at 57500 Van Dyke in Washington Township will have on
    Saturday, November 1 “Deck The Halls and Octagon House Holiday Decorating.”
    This will also take place on Sunday, November 2, Saturday, November 8, and Sunday,
    November 9. On Thursday, November 20 will be a Holiday Soirée for Members,
    Volun- teers and Supporters. On Sunday, November 23 will be an Open House from

    12 Noon to 4 pm. with over 100 decorated trees. On Fri- day, November 28, will be a

    Special Holiday Open House and on Saturday, No- vember 29, a Happy Holiday Tea.

    On Sunday, Novem- ber 30 will be another Open House from 12 noon-4 p.m.

     

     

     

     

    December


    The Crocker House at 15 Union St in Mt. Clemens will have a Victo- rian Christmas
    Victorian For- mal Tea on Sunday, De- cember 7, from 1 to 4 pm. On Sundays,

    December 14 & 21, 1 - 4 p.m. there will be a Victorian Christmas Tea & Tour and on Thursday,

    December 11, from 5 to 9 pm, there will be a Victorian Christmas Wallow and Wassail.

     

    The Chesterfield Twp. Historical Society will host Christmas carolers and tree
    lighters in the Weller School (formerly Chesterfield District School # 1) in their Historical
    Village on Friday evening, December 4. Cookies and hot chocolate will be
    served. The Historical Village is located at 47275 Sugarbush.

    Sunday, December 7 an Open House 12 noon-4 p.m. Over 100 decorated trees! On
    Saturday, December 13 will be Tea with Santa and on Sunday, December 14 an
