Macomb Food Program - Volunteers Needed

Seasonally, volunteers are needed at the Macomb Food Program's warehouse to sort and re-box donated food products that will be distributed to its network of pantry distribution sites.Volunteers will sort the food at the warehouse by major food type from large 4' x 4' Gaylord totes into smaller manageable boxes. Sorters should be able to read and follow simple directions. Sorters cannot wear shorts or open toe shoes. It is helpful, but not necessary, if sorters could lift approximately 35 pounds.

Schedule of available times for food sorters: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. May – July. Other times are available for groups. Sorters coming in for the first time need a 10-minute orientation prior to volunteering.
Please call 586-469-6004 to schedule a time to volunteer.
