Leveraging Partnerships: New 2008 Aerial Imagery Now Available

The GIS and Graphic Services Division of the Macomb County Department of Planning and Economic Development is pleased to announce the release of new 2008, color digital, aerial imagery for all areas in Macomb County.  This imagery was acquired by partnering with the Southeastern Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG), the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency’s (NGA) Urban Areas Program.

Collected during the spring of 2008, the aerial imagery provides complete color coverage of the entire county at a twelve inch pixel resolution.  The new imagery is ideal for property mapping, environmental assessment and economic development.

The new imagery is available for viewing online at gis.macombcountymi.gov  The imagery is also available as an updated black and white backdrop to the Department’s paper property tax maps and as an updated color backdrop to our digital Adobe .PDF version of the property tax maps.  Click here for more information on these and all the mapping products available from Macomb County GIS Services.
