Site Evaluation Tool Training

The Clinton River Basin Watershed Initiative is offering training in two locations especially for individuals involved with storm water site plan design.  The “Site Evaluation Tool” is a Web-based based planning tool that provides critical and reliable information for evaluating water quality/quantity benefits associated with Best Managed Practices (BMP) and Low Impact Development (LID) strategies. 

If you are currently affiliated with these types of projects as a:

  1. Phase II storm water coordinators

  2. Public works official

  3. Municipal plan review departments

  4. Planning commissions/departments

  5. Consultants

  6. Developers

  7. Township boards/city councils or

  8. An individual that is concerned about storm water quality and site plan approvals

2008 US Army Corps of Engineers / Society of American Military Engineers Small Business Workshop

The event will be held at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Michigan. The
Workshop will allow opportunities for Small Business leaders and key local Federal Contracting decision makers to formulate a direct exchange of information and ideas. The event will provide time to learn about Federal small business programs, the value of teaming relationships between small and large corporations and upcoming local small business contracting opportunities.

The luncheon Keynote Speaker is Robert Nardelli, Chrysler CEO. The agenda will incorporate booths and networking with small businesses, large corporations, and several local contracting agencies.

Introduction to Defense Procurement

The Sterling Heights Area Chamber of Commerce, Automation Alley, Macomb County Planning & Economic Development Department, and the City of Sterling Heights present the second manufacturing breakfast symposium in the series:


The Government is in need of manufacturers to fill their defense needs. How do area businesses know where to find these bid requests and how do they submit their bids? Keeping with the theme set in the first symposium on diversification this second in the series for manufacturers focuses on procuring defense contracts. The symposium will cover how important defense contracts can be in your business diversification plan, what contracts are available, and what assistance is available for you in applying and getting these contracts.
