E-Macomb
this just in...

Macomb County Department of Planning & Economic Development is pleased to promote the upcoming “Global Trade Mission” for approximately 200 high school seniors. This event, hosted by Automation Alley and the Macomb Intermediate School District (MISD) will be held on April 3, 4 & 5 at the MISD complex on Garfield Road, just south of M-59.
During the event, students will be placed in small, cross-district teams to take on a "Challenge" to launch a product at a worldwide exposition event. Each team will be responsible for developing a product that reflects a high-growth industry in southeast Michigan and then to “bring the product to market” in terms of financing and marketing strategies.
In order for this event to be a success, approximately 50-75 volunteers are needed. Volunteer positions are varied. Some are needed to serve as “coaches” in direct relation to targeted industries, financing and marketing. Others are needed to serve as “ambassadors” for providing specific information about doing business in a culturally competent manner. Others are needed to evaluate team presentations on a mock investors panel. Individual commitments of time can range from a few hours to several days.
All those with expertise in these areas and an interest in exposing our youth to the global economy in which we must all compete are encouraged to get involved. Surely your expertise in the real world will be of value to students and you may well learn something in the process!
