About Land and Water Services

Macomb County’s Land and Water Resources division has three primary objectives that are a clear objective of County Executive Mark Hackel’s vision for Macomb County.  The Vision for a Blue Economy Initiative is based on the 3 conjoining principle’s that are necessary for “Sustainability”; which include:

  1. Environmental stewardship
  2. Develop and foster economic development for water-based businesses
  3. Enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors

Through the protection and restoration of Macomb County’s natural resources, the Land and Water Resources division will achieve these goals.  The programming set forth is geared towards increasing economic development through the improvement of water quality, water access, and water attraction.

  • Lake St. Clair Coastal Paddling Trail
  • Coastal Marshland Restoration and Natural Features Conservation
