What is 4C?

The 4C Better Kid Care program continues to ensure that Macomb County parents and children receive the best possible childcare by providing education and training to formal and informal childcare providers and seeks to educate childcare providers with up-to-date, early education and care information.

The 4C (Community Coordinated Child Care)/Better Kid Care is a free, non-profit childcare resource and referral service serving Macomb and St Clair counties.  The program is administered through the Macomb County Board of Commissioners and Macomb MSU Extension Service.

 

For Parents, 4C provides:

  • List of child care optoins
  • Information on how to choose quality child care
  • Parenting resources

For Child Care Providers, 4C provides:

  • Free advertising for your business
  • Professional and child development trainings to meet licensing requirements
  • Mentoring, guidance and support

For Businesses and Agencies, 4C provides:

  • On-site resource exhibits
  • Customized employee referrals
  • Brochures available for distribution

4C Mission

MSU Extension-4C in Macomb and St. Clair Counties is dedicated to helping develop quality child care that is safe, affordable and accessible.  4C provides families with resources and referrals for finding such care.  4C also trains and educates child care providers in improving their care practices and cultivating business opportunities.  4C strengthens the available child care base in Macomb and St. Clair Counties.
