Don't Guess...Soil Test

This annual program for organic soil testing runs every Spring.

Soil testing is important for healthy plants and clean water.  A soil test indicates nutrient levels already in your soil -- a first step in determining the amount and type of fertilizer needed for your specific plants.

Over-application of  fertilizers can pollute water resources, ruin plants and waste money.

Retailers Particpating in the 2011 Don't Guess...Soil Test include:

  • New Haven Farmers Elevator, 31071 Division Street in New Haven
  • Washington Elevator, 7030 W. Washington in Washington Township
  • Macomb MSU Extension, 21885 Dunham Road (near entrance E) in Clinton Township

A regular nutrient test can be done all year round through the Macomb MSU Extension Horticulture department.  For frequently asked questions on soil test, click here.
