Northern Macomb County Citizen Opinion Survey



Northern Macomb County is experiencing tremendous growth.  The effects of growth are viewed by many as an issue.  Public Officials and community interest groups are constantly seeking data to identify resident opinions in order to assist decision making and the adoption of a community course of action.

In 2002, Macomb MSU Extension staff applied for and was awarded a grant from the MSU Extension Community Development Area of Expertise statewide team.  Extension staff approached officials from ten northern communities to partner in implementing a Citizen Opinion Survey.  Eight communities chose to partner in this effort.

As a result, the Northern Macomb County Citizen Opinion Survey was sent to a random sample of residents taken from each community's assessor's rolls.  The usable response rate was 41 percent, representing over 2,213 households.  The data was analyzed then organized by individual community responses and by total combined responses.

The following files contain the survey results.  The "Total Community" report summarizes all participating community data as a Northern unit.  Individual community reports are identified as such.  Each report is in Adobe .pdf format.  Click here to install Acrobat Reader.
