As of July 1, 2008, all children in Michigan under age 8 or under 4'9" tall must be restrained in an appropriate car seat or booster seat while in a vehicle. Seat belts are designed for adults, but booster seats can make seat belts fit children properly

Recently, the Associated Press released a report, which found that low concentrations of prescription drugs and over the counter medications have been detected in the drinking water supplies of 24 major metropolitan areas throughout the country, including Detroit.
The Macomb County Health Department began accepting unwanted and outdated medications, from Macomb County residents, for safe and secure disposal several years ago. To date, over 1,400 pounds of pharmaceutical wastes have been collected
