Moving in Macomb Program - The Moving in Macomb Program is a series of one-day outdoor health and fitness fairs designed to promote healthy nutrition and physical activity among Macomb County children and their families. The program is intended to help prevent childhood and adult obesity and increase awareness about the important role that exercise and a healthy diet plays in preventing chronic disease. Adolescents - The beginning of adolescence is a time of great change for a child. Positive self-image is important in preventing eating disorders such as bulimia and anorexia. Low calcium intake of young girls sets the stage for osteoporosis in later years. Young boys must be informed about the dangers of steroid use and how to build muscle through good nutrition.
