School Immunization Program

The goal of School Immunization Program is to lower the risk of vaccine preventable disease in learning environments.

The Program provides support and consultation to local private and public schools, nursery schools, preschools, childcare centers and Head Start Programs to achieve and maintain an immunization rate of 95% or higher in students and enrollees.

The school, preschool, childcare center and Head Start Program staff review the immunization records of approximately 50,000 children and students each year and send reports to the School Immunization Program at the Macomb County Health Department as required by law.
