Health Insurance for Pregnant Women and Children

Are you pregnant and need health insurance?  Do you also have children that need insurance?

  • The Macomb County Health Department Prenatal Enrollment Program helps low-income pregnant women apply for health insurance.
  • We complete the MOMS/Healthy Kids for pregnant Women applications and give you a letter (Guarantee of Payment Letter) that allows you to start prenatal care.
  • The application process includes assessment of children in the home for Healthy Kids and MIChild insurance eligibility.

You must first make an appointment with the Macomb County Health Department at (586) 469-5492 to do a MOMS/Healthy Kids for Pregnant Women application.

At the appointment, you will get a letter (Guarantee of Payment Letter) to start prenatal care immediately.  This is important to help you have a healthy baby.
