SPECIAL EVENTS

Macomb County Senior Services assists many seniors each your through educational events.  These events are planned by the Program Developer to teach seniors about current issues in a fun and informative atmosphere.  To provide the events, donations, sponsorships or mini-grants are received from community agencies.  Here are some examples of the events.

SENIOR FUN FESTIVAL 2011

2011
The Senior Fun Festival was a recipient of a NaCo Achievement Award.  It is designed to provide information to large number of seniors (2300 attended in 2011) about companies from for-profit, non-profit, hospitals, health care agencies, state and local government.. Over 110 different agencies participated.  To make the day fun, there is food at discounted prices available, live music and dancing, and Macomb County Sheriff Department demos. The event takes place in June of each year.  Through Gibraltar Trade Center North's generous donation of time, space and staffing, it is held in their Show Arena.

The picture on above right is dancing to the music of Moose and Da Sharks.
